Boise Fire Department got its roots with the beginning of a volunteer fire department in 1876. In 1906, though, with 28 men on the roster, Boise Fire Department became a full-time paid city fire department.
RICH ELLIOTT is an employee of Boise Mobile Equipment, who has graciously offered to give pictures of the process of the 3 new Boise Fire Department Engines being manufactured. Rich has obtained permission from BME to keep me updated with production photos. I hope that you enjoy these pictures.
Engine 21 Whitney's newest Pierce Enforcer 1500 gpm pumper. It has a 4-seat cab with cabinets on the back wall to hold charts, maps, and books. The pump is a 1500 gpm Waterous pump with a 500 gallon tank. The engine is powered by a 300 hp diesel motor with automatic transmission.
