Zinc Base Die Cast Alloy #27 is very versatile in that it is suited to Sand and Permanent Mold Casting in addition to Die Casting.
Of all the Zinc Die Casting Alloys, Z-2 offers the best machine finish. Though the strongest and hardest of the Zinc Base Die Cast Alloys, Z-2 is not widely used. Usually employed for die casting, Z-2 can also be useful in gravity casting applications.
Zinc Base Die Cast Alloy #12 is very versatile in that it is suited to Sand and Permanent Mold Casting in addition to Die Casting. ZA-12 is slightly stronger than the similar ZA-8 Alloy. ZA-12 is a good zinc-base substitute for cast iron or permanent molded aluminum.
